Changes in Version 11

What's new in HandicapMaster 11

General Play Scores

When your members record General Play scores online, they may now elect to verify the score being entered with their signature. When they do so, they will need to ask their Marker to provide a signature to confirm the score. These signatures then become visible in HandicapMaster when the General Play scorecard is viewed.
Scorecard with Signatures
The following amendments to General Play score entry are made to the England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland WHS editions of HandicapMaster (only):
  • You may now elect for General Play scores to be totalled in Stableford points.

  • New Golf Union regulations require that

    • Entry of General Play scores must only be allowed when the player entering their score is located at or close to the golf course. This also applies to signing-in for a General Play score too. The Online Score Entry wizard is enhanced to allow for the co-ordinates of the golf course to be input, to facilitate this check to be performed. You may now re-enable online entry of General Play scores by supplying a course location in the Online Score Entry wizard.

    • A minimum amount time must have passed between players signing-in and entering a score, for a General Play score. These minimum times (different between countries) are applied to entry of scores online and through Player Entry.

Golf Courses

The display of Course Scorecards is amended to show as a straightforward list of Course Scorecards, rather than a 'tree' view of clubs and their scorecards, for easier navigation.
In WHS editions of HandicapMaster, 'non-counting' Course Scorecards are now hidden by default. You may re-display them by clicking the applicable button on a new toolbar, displayed when the list of Course Scorecards is shown.

Local Handicapping

You may now choose to base handicap calculations on 'incremental adjustments' rather than averaging. When selected, Players scores (their 'handicap played-to' values) are compared with their handicap and a differential is calculated. Depending upon this differential, handicaps may increase or decrease, or remain unaltered (Local handicapping editions only).

Competition Purse

The Competition Purse Transactions list and report, and player Purse Transaction History lists are amended to split the 'Amount' column into 'Money In' and 'Money Out' columns.
Past Members may now be included in the selection list for a number of purse reports.
The 'Competition Purse Income Received' report is amended to include all player's transactions (not just current members) within the report.
You may now apply a purse balance adjustment to more than one member's purse at the same time.

Player Entry

Within Player Entry, the presentation of the screen confirming that a player or team has signed in is improved for easier readability. The screen will now stay displayed until the player clicks OK (or up to a maximum of 30 seconds).
Scorecard with Signatures
When a Visitor enters their National ID and a record for them is added to the system, if the National Handicapping service has not supplied age information for the player, the player is now asked to select their golfing age group (Junior, Adult or Senior). This is to assist with running Open Competitions which are limited by Age Group eligibility.
When signing in to return a General Play score, players will now be asked to confirm their desire to sign-in.
When Player Entry is configured to use 'Touchscreen' option, and the equipment is wide-screen, buttons are now drawn wider, for easier operation (especially on small screen devices).
In HandicapMaster, Player Entry items are now grouped under one entry 'Player Entry' on the 'competitions' drop-down menu.

Eclectics

You may now set Division boundary values to one decimal place.

Orders of Merit

You may now set Division boundary values to one decimal place.
Where two or more players have the same points the player with the fewer competitions will be listed above the other player(s) with the same points. All players will have the same positional value. If all players have the same points and number of scores then they are listed alphabetically.

HandicapMaster E-mail service

Due to the high costs of providing an e-mail service, a 30-day rolling quota system is introduced to help ensure fair use of the service.
When using the HandicapMaster E-mail service:
  • You may now edit the Sender's name.

  • You may now clear e-mail rejections for members, visitors and golf club contacts e-mail addresses (where sending to their e-mail has been blocked).

  • The E-mail Rejection Log report now displays additional rejection errors to provide improved clarity of the reason for the rejection.

Playing Records

You may now access the playing record of your Visitor players.

Reports

Competition Results report; As a result of customer requests the disqualification information now contains descriptive text as well as the rule number.
Competition Results report; The option to include the name of the player's Home Club on the results report for all competitions is added. (LOCAL Handicapping Editions only).
You may now run Membership 'Age' reports against Visitor records.
The layout of the report produced from lists on screen (option 'Print Report') is improved where there was a wide blank right-hand column.
The pasting of text from the windows clipboard into HandicapMaster is improved to prevent an unexpected error when unable to paste the data.

General

In HandicapMaster the listing of Initial Handicap Cards, General Play Scores, Away Scores, Playing Notes, Penalty Scores, Stripe Payments Received and 'All Handicap Events' are now categorised into separate years.
The shortcut key 'CTRL + C' now takes the user directly to the 'Opened Competitions' list.
Graded levels of alerts in HandicapMaster ('information', 'alert' and 'error') is introduced.
For singles competitions, the Analyse Scores Entered list now displays the number of holes scored as 'No Return' and the number of holes scored as 'Did Not Play' for each scorecard (helping competition officials to check where 'No Return' may have been recorded instead of 'Did Not Play' in error).
