Hardware
It is recommended that
  • HandicapMaster be run on a modern personal computer running one of the supported versions of Windows listed below.
  • The monitor should be set for 'high colour' mode.
  • The system have a printer available for use

Microsoft Windows®

HandicapMaster will run on any of the following versions of Microsoft Windows (#1) including 32-bit and 64 bit versions:
  • Windows 11 (#5)
  • Windows 10 (#4)
  • Windows 8.1 (#3) - Windows 8 RT is not supported
    From 10th January 2023 Microsoft no longer support Windows 8.1.

  • Windows 7 SP 1(#2)
    As of January 2020 Microsoft no longer support Windows 7 SP 1.
    We recommend that you upgrade or replace computers runing Windows 7 SP1.
  • Windows Vista (#2)
    As of April 2017 Microsoft no longer support Windows Vista (all editions).
    We recommend that you upgrade or replace computers runing Windows Vista (all editions).
  • Windows XP Service Pack 3
    As of April 2014 Microsoft no longer support Windows XP.
    Windows XP Serivice Pack 2 and earlier may not operate with Handicapaster verion 9.
    We recommend that you upgrade or replace computers runing Windows XP (all editions).
HandicapMaster version 9 requires the the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 SP2 (or higher) be installed on your computer. When you install HandicapMaster version 9 if your computer is connected to the internet and the .NET framework 2.0 is not installed then it will be downloaded automatically. However if you computer is not connected to the internet then the above link may be used to download a copy that may then be copied to removable media and take to the offline computer.

Note that this has a number of software and hardware pre-requisites.
We also recommend that your version of windows is regularly updated with the most recent security updates from Microsoft.
Note #1: Non-English Language versions of Windows (such as Japanese or Arabic Language) are not supported.
Note #2: All editions of HandicapMaster from version 7 to Version 9 will operate with Windows Vista, Windows 7 and have been tested on these versions of WIndows
Note #3: All editions of HandicapMaster from Version 8 onwards will operate with Windows 8.1. HandicapMaster Version 7 may operate with Windows 8, but has not been tested as it is no longer supported.
Note #4: HandicapMaster Version 9 has been tested and will operate with Windows 10. Earlier versions of HandicapMaster may operate with Windows 10, but have not been tested as they are no longer supported.
Note #5: HandicapMaster Version 9 will operate with Windows 11 but has not been formally tested. Earlier versions of HandicapMaster may operate with Windows 11, but have not been tested as they are no longer supported.
