Update 9.2.9 - 5 January 2018 - Update Package 989

  • NEW - General Bookings; Names of partners are now included on list of bookings for a booking schedule, and also included in the report covering the booking schedule, where partner names have been recorded.
  • NEW - Golf Courses; You may now move courses between clubs/organisations by right-clicking over a course in the golf courses list and selecting 'Move to different club/organisation' in the pop-up menu.
  • AMEND - Golf Courses list and Closed Competitions list; You may now scroll up and down these lists using a mouse wheel.
  • AMEND - Improve sorting of lists when data starts with a single digit.
  • FIX - E-mail; Substitution of text fields did not work.
  • FIX - General Bookings; Discount schemes were not listed, and 'Configure Discount Schemes' button did not work, where a new booking was being recorded by administrator.
  • FIX - Golf Course Scorecards; When adding a new course scorecard to a 9-hole course, an 18-hole scorecard could be displayed in error.
  • FIX - Handicap Status; Players with 'non-competition' handicap status and pending a 'competition' handicap status change at the end of last year could continue to show as qualifying for a 'competition' status handicap past the turn of the year incorrectly (CONGU Editions only).
  • FIX - Match-play Knockout Draw Chart; When only one round could be included on chart, team names could be printed too large and wrap around.
  • FIX - Player Entry; View Handicap List option could report 'No handicaps to view' or give error 'Invalid column IS_DISABLED (Query 13506)'.
  • FIX - Playing Handicaps List (For Competition) report; Report was not taking into account separate course scorecard details for men and ladies for the same tee colours (EGA Editions).

Update 9.2.7 - 22 December 2017 - Update Package 987

  • NEW - Users; You may now copy an existing User, creating a new User with the same attributes.
  • AMEND - Golf Courses (England); Added 'ELSE' and renamed 'Mansfield Golf Centre' as 'Caddy Shack (Golf Centre)'.
  • AMEND - Repositioned some controls and resized some windows to avoid text being hidden or mispositioned, especially when running HandicapMaster on a Windows XP PC.
  • FIX - ClubWebsite; Name of Theme currently being used for the website was not pre-selected when updating settings.
  • FIX - Match-play Knockout Draw; In some cases, the right hand column in the list of telephone numbers was truncated when printing the report.
  • FIX - Match-play Knockout Draw; When including the list of players' telephone numbers, the choice of primarily showing 'mobile' or 'other tel. number' as each players' contact number was not being actioned.
  • FIX - Player Hole-by-Hole Analysis Report; Where more than one club and course combination was present in the data for the chosen player, only the data for the first club and course combination was presented correctly in the report.
  • FIX - Reports; In some cases, when the HandicapMaster window is resized and the horizontal scroll bar is automatically removed a report may have remained to the left hand side of the window rather than being fully displayed in the width of the window.
  • FIX - Unexpected error '-2147221503 Invalid use of Null (Query -389, Column 'PURSE_2')' may have occurred when publishing to Master Scoreboard.

Update 9.2.6 - 19 December 2017 - Update Package 986

  • NEW - A new 'Data Protection' sub-menu Item is added to the 'Players' menu, and includes 'E-mail Correspondence Opt In' facility and 'Personal Data Export' to assist with the introduction of new Data Protection (GDPR) regulations in May 2018.
  • NEW - A number of additional features have been added to take into account the introduction of new Data Protection (GDPR) regulations in May 2018.
  • NEW - ClubWebsite; You may now choose which 'theme' is used for the website pages, and change this theme anytime through the ClubWebsite program.
  • NEW - CONGU Handicap Record Report; The printable version of a player's Handicap Record now shows all team event scores. These scores are now included in the player's record report with more consistency (CONGU Editions).
  • NEW - Match Play Knock Out Chart; You may now elect to create a 'single round only' draw with only one round of matches listed. This may be helpful where a separate draw will be made after each round of the competition.
  • AMEND - Add and Edit Member windows; 'Cards & Locker' tab is removed with CDH number, Card number and Locker number items moved to 'Details' tab.
  • AMEND - Eclectics; Competition course name is added to the Venue list (when applicable), shown when adding competitions to an Eclectic.
  • AMEND - Golf Courses (Scotland); Added 'David Lloyd Rouken Glen', 'Redburn' and 'Westray'.
  • AMEND - Record Away Scores; When recording away scores for a non-qualifying Team competition, you will now be asked to enter the Team score (Inc. Nett Score for team competitions).
  • AMEND - Subscriptions Option; Changed 'Outstanding' status to 'Due'.
  • FIX - Closed Competitions List; When returning to this list, say after viewing a Results report, the wrong competition in the list could be pre-selected.
  • FIX - Competition Results; Unexpected error 5 ('Column 'FIRST_ROUND_DATE' does not belong to table MyDataset') could occur after applying scores for a multiple-round competition.
  • FIX - Competition Scoring Analysis report; Results were not being separated between different golf courses at the same venue, in error.
  • FIX - Competition Scoring Analysis report; Unexpected error 9999 ('Query 2281 missing a reference to OID column') occurred when running the report for competitions after a chosen date.
  • FIX - Match Play Knock Out Chart; When using large font, resulting in only a single column on the chart but with a large number of matches, the chart could be drawn squashed and unreadable.
  • FIX - Player Hole-by-Hole Analysis report; Results were not being separated between different golf courses at the same venue, in error.

Update 9.2.5 - 6 December 2017 - Update Package 985

  • NEW - Match-play Knockout Draw; When a KO Chart is to be produced, you will now be asked how the report is to be drawn. In addition to Paper Size, you will be able to select the font size used for text in the report. You will be able to select whether the chart is drawn on Portrait or Landscape orientated paper. You may also choose which rounds are displayed on the report.
  • NEW - Userids; The option to define separate Users with separate passwords and potentially separate access rights in HandicapMaster is added to CLUB, EGA-CLUB and SOCIETY editions, bringing these editions in line with PREMIER and NETWORK editions.
  • AMEND - Competition reports; Course name, in addition to club name, is now displayed as the venue on various competition reports.
  • AMEND - Competition Results Reports; Heading layout is amended, including course name added to venue when a course other than with a default name of 'Main' is used. Applies to newly created or edited Results Reports only.
  • AMEND - Golf Courses (England); Added 'Club (Devon)' and renamed 'Leicestershire' as 'The Leicestershire'.
  • AMEND – ILGU Ladies medal and ILGU Silver Spoons competitions are limited to players with handicaps of 36 or less and not the upper CONGU handicap limit of 54.
  • AMEND - Match-play Knockout Draw; Settings for how the Chart is to be produced are removed from REPORTS -> LAYOUT AND OPTIONS. Instead, you will be asked to confirm your preferred settings each time you request a Chart, allowing you to customise the charts according to the KO draws more easily.
  • AMEND - Match-play Knockout Draw; Text for long names is no longer reduced in size on the KO Chart. The same size of text is now used for all players, improving the presentation of the Chart.
  • AMEND - Match-play Knockout Draw; When creating a new Chart and requesting player's telephone numbers are included in the report, these are now listed on a separate page of the report.
  • AMEND - Match-play Knockout Draw; You may now limit first names on a KO Chart to initials only for singles competitions (in addition to pairs competitions as previously).
  • FIX - Competition Bookings; Unexpected error 13 ('Type Mismatch') occurred when viewing bookings received where the PC was set to use non-UK time formats.
  • FIX - Publishing to Master Scoreboard; in some circumstances, such as after databases were updated from HandicapMaster 2017, results for competitions were not included in the publishing to Master Scoreboard.
  • FIX - Supplementary Scores; Men's scores returned as Stableford format over 18-holes and recorded through Player Entry would fail to have the Par of the course recorded when accepted into player's records, causing a wild miscalculation of the player's handicap (CONGU Editions).

Update 9.2.4 - 28 November 2017 - Update Package 984

  • NEW - Competition Divisions; An option is added to allow division boundaries to be automatically adjusted in results reports. The boundaries are set to give approximately equal numbers of players in each division whenever results are calculated.
  • AMEND - Apply Scores; 'View Results' form displayed at end of applying wizards is slightly reworded to emphasise generation of results.
  • AMEND - Closed Competitions list and Course Scorecards list; Improved scrolling of list when using 'Up', 'Down', 'Page Up' and 'Page Down' keys.
  • AMEND - Housekeeping; Players' handicap records, after housekeeping handicap records, will now start with 'Transferred Handicap Allotment' rather than 'Handicap Brought Forward'.
  • AMEND - Publish to Master Scoreboard; Reduce time taken to publish to website.
  • AMEND - Results Reports Wizard; Amendments made to 'Annotation' page for improved usability.
  • AMEND - Results Reports; When deleting Reports or electing to exclude Reports from Master Scoreboard that have previously been published to Master Scoreboard, then reports are now immediately removed from Master Scoreboard.
  • FIX - Apply Scores; Unexpected error 91 ('Object reference not set to an instance of an object') could occur closing competitions.
  • FIX - Course Scorecards; Error 'Invalid value for 9-Hole Scratch Score entered' could occur when saving a Course Scorecard that was copied from another Course Scorecard, preventing that Course Scorecard from being saved (Society Edition).
  • FIX - Handicap Record Graph; When displaying graph in 'X-axis as Timeline' format, X-axis now has a correct starting date and lines are plotted relative to this starting date.
  • FIX - Housekeeping; Unexpected error -2147221503 ('Invalid use of Null (Query 697)') could occur when housekeeping past data (EGA Editions).
  • FIX - Order of Merit; Unexpected Error 5 ('Dynamic SQL generation for the DeleteCommand is not supported against a SelectCommand that does not return any key column information') could occur when recalculating an Order of Merit where players where option 'Limit Players to their Best Scores only' was applied to the Order of Merit.
  • FIX - Player Entry; When starting Player Entry from its own desktop icon (i.e. using 'PlayerEntry.exe' program), registration details were not recognised if the installed edition was a new 'Cloud' edition of HandicapMaster.

Update 9.2.3 - 22 November 2017 - Update Package 983

  • NEW - A Delete button is added to the 'Select a Golf Club/Organisation' list when 'Add a Course Scorecard', 'Edit Club/Organisation' or 'Golf Club Contact Details' task is selected.
  • NEW - Closed Competitions; An option is added to allow Notes to be added or amended for Competitions or Results Reports.
  • AMEND - Competition Results Reports; Notes about Mixed Tee Competitions are now excluded from reports (EGA Editions).
  • AMEND - Competition Results Reports; Section 'Changes to Handicaps' is no longer included on 'Strokes taken over a selection of Holes' results reports.
  • AMEND - Golf Courses (England); Renamed 'Wike Ridge (Ladies)' as 'Wike Ridge'.
  • AMEND - 'Handicap adjustments at Score Entry' report; Report for HOME members no longer displays details for non-members.
  • AMEND - Handicap Record Graph now scales automatically for players with larger Gross differentials (CONGU and Society editions) or Adjusted Stableford Score (EGA editions).
  • AMEND - 'Opened Competitions' and 'Closed Competitions' lists; Colours used to highlight ladies' only and mixed competitions in the lists are amended to improve differentiation between competition types.
  • FIX - Apply Scores; When closing a men's-only or ladies'-only competition and no course scorecards existed for the opposite gender for the course played, unexpected error 9 ('Index was outside the bounds of the array') occurred.
  • FIX - Apply Scores; When closing a men's-only or ladies'-only competition unexpected error 91 ('Object reference not set to an instance of an object') could occur.
  • FIX - 'Away Scores (Report to Home Club)' report; CONGU 9-hole medal qualifying competition scores were not being reported as Stableford scores, as required by the CONGU Unified Handicapping System (CONGU Editions).
  • FIX - Competition Results Reports; Message 'There were no changes to any (HOME Club) Competitor's Playing Handicap' was not being displayed in reports when expected (CONGU and SOCIETY editions).
  • FIX - Competition Results Reports; When editing or adding new results reports, changes in 'notes for competition' were not reflected in other results reports that included these competition notes.
  • FIX - Continuous Handicap Review; When clicking Cancel and selecting to continue to adjust further players after selecting next player the adjustment window no longer closes in error (CONGU Editions).
  • FIX - Open a New Competition; Unexpected error 5 ('The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship') could occur when opening a 9-hole competition and 9-hole Standard Scratch Score value had not been recorded for the selected tees, when updating the course scorecard with the missing information (CONGU editions).
  • FIX - Order of Merit; When printing the breakdown of players' scores, Unexpected Error 5 ('Incorrect syntax in JOIN operation') occurred.
  • FIX - Player Entry Settings Wizard; Page to enter callback settings was not displayed if service 'Book into Future Competitions' was selected without also selecting 'Sign In'.
  • FIX - Publishing results to MasterScoreboard; In some cases some results may not have been published.
  • FIX - 'Scorecards from a Competition' report; For some team competitions, wrong headings and some missing columns could occur for team scores, on the individual team scorecard pages in the report.

Update 9.2.2 - 14 November 2017 - Update Package 982

  • NEW - Match Play Knock Out Draw; By default, matches with byes are no longer displayed in the draw sheet where these occur in the first round (to improve the readability of the chart). Original behaviour may be restored by selecting new option 'Show Byes in first round'.
  • NEW - Player Entry; When configuring Player Entry to allow members to record Supplementary Scores through Player Entry, you may now elect to limit which courses players may play and/or you may elect to restrict which Tees they may play from (CONGU editions).
  • NEW - Subscriptions Option; Publish HandicapMaster Competition Fee Purse balance to MasterScoreboard.
  • AMEND - Competition Results; An existing Results Report cannot be changed from an Overall (aggregated) report to a Selected Round report (and vice versa).
  • AMEND - CONGU Annual Review; Include players in report whose Performance against Target suggests a handicap reduction even though their finish handicap was higher than their starting handicap. Likewise, include players whose Performance against Target suggests a handicap increase even though their finish handicap was lower than their starting handicap. Remove players from suggested reduction where Performance against Target was -3 to -5 where they have returned less than 7 qualifying scores (CONGU Editions).
  • AMEND - Course Scorecard window; The course name is now displayed alongside the club name in the window title.
  • AMEND - Course Scorecards and Closed Competitions lists; When returning to these lists, the 'nodes' expanded last time are now re-opened, preserving a similar view of the information.
  • AMEND - Course Scorecards list; Text for men's course scorecard entries are now shown in blue.
  • AMEND - Enter Scores; The Scorecard screen now displays the Course, as well as the Club, where the competition is being played, in the headings (when the course is not the default called 'main').
  • AMEND - Handicapping place; lists in the Handicapping place that contain a 'Venue' column are amended to also show the course as well as the club in this column.
  • AMEND - The titles of the CONGU Annual Handicap reports are now different, allowing for ease of identification when saving reports.
  • FIX - Apply Scores; When multiple results were available for a report type (typically where results were limited to Top X players), the prompt for selection of reports was shown in error after the View Results form was cancelled.
  • FIX - Competition Divisions; When converting databases for HandicapMaster 2018 edition, division boundaries were not automatically adjusted to cater for switch from Playing to Exact Handicaps.
  • FIX - Competition Results; After editing the Results Report for an aggregated competition, error 'INTERNAL ERROR; It has not been possible to locate the details of the competition.' was displayed instead of the results.
  • FIX - Competition Results; Players were being placed into divisions based upon their handicap after the competition rather than correctly based on the handicap they held prior to the competition.
  • FIX - Course Scorecards; 18-hole and back 9-holes course ratings were being requested when entering Course Scorecards for 9-hole courses, in error (EGA Editions)
  • FIX - Course Scorecards; It was possible to save Course Scorecards without entering Course Rating information (E.g. Standard Scratch Score details), in error.
  • FIX - E-mail; The introduction of the cancel facility when sending e-mails introduced an issue where any error when sending an e-mail resulted in HandicapMaster generating an unexpected error and exiting.
  • FIX - Entry of Initial Handicap Cards and Supplementary Scores; Closing the scorecard window by clicking the top right-hand cross when no scores had been entered onto the scorecard resulted in a score being recorded, in error.
  • FIX - Entry of Initial Handicap Cards and Supplementary Scores; In rare situations, after updating from HandicapMaster 9.1, the scorecard screen could require an 18-hole score to be entered into a 9-hole course, in error.
  • FIX - Entry of Initial Handicap Cards and Supplementary Scores; Unexpected error 91 ('Object reference not set to an instance of an object') occurred if OK button on course selection form was clicked whilst warning 'No Course Scorecard details available for the selected 'Course Played'' was displayed.
  • FIX - Extra Day Score; When entering an EDS for a player over a 9-hole course, text 'Holes Played' was displayed on the screen without reason (EGA Editions).
  • FIX - In some circumstances, Unexpected Error 91 (' Object reference not set to an instance of an object') could occur viewing scorecards, where the course details could not be read from the database successfully.
  • FIX - Initial Handicap Cards and Supplementary Scores; When a 9-hole scorecard was entered, the Standard Scratch Score for the default ('Main') course was used, irrespective of the course actually selected (CONGU Editions).
  • FIX - Initial Handicap Cards; Selection screen incorrectly displayed a 'Stroke-Play Medal' or 'Stableford' selection box (CONGU Editions).
  • FIX - Initial Handicap Cards; Where a second course at the home club was selected as the venue for the Initial Handicap Card, this was not recorded in the player's record. The main course at the club was recorded in error (CONGU Editions).
  • FIX - Match Play Knock Out Draw; Players' names could be displayed truncated in the left-most column of the draw sheet.
  • FIX - Player Entry; Players could be asked which tees they are playing from twice, in error.
  • FIX - Supplementary Scores; When entering 'Away' 9-hole Supplementary Scores, scores below 18 Stableford Points were being rejected as too low, in error (CONGU Editions).
  • FIX - Unexpected error 5 ('The CREATE UNIQUE INDEX statement terminated because a duplicate key was found') was reported by one customer when updating to HandicapMaster 2018 for the first time.
  • FIX - Unexpected error 5 ('There are no primary or candidate keys in the referenced table 'SUBSCRIPTION_METHODS' that match the referencing column list in the foreign key 'SUBSCRIPTIONS_MEMBER'.') occurred running HandicapMaster 2018 for the first time with Network edition (Hosted) databases.
  • FIX - Unexpected error 5 ('Timeout expired') could occur running HandicapMaster 2018 for the first time with Network edition (hosted) databases.
